3WW (CCXV) entries

Image of a man in a pink shirt working on a radiant, white object on the flatbed of a truck beside a field of bamboo in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong.Dear Gentle Reader,

As you know, I quite like 3WW.

This week the words are candid, impulse, and risk.

This week sees four haiku; the second had to come out, though it doesn't use the 3WW words.

Tschuess,
Chris

[Addendum: Word definitions...

effrenate: unbridled, violent in action
gigantomachy: the war of the giants against the gods, any similar struggle]

WHEN MASSES AGGREGATE AND RISE TO FIGHT TYRANNY

effrenate masses...
candid impulses rise, risk
gigantomachy

(With an unbidden follow up that just leapt out, but does not contain the 3WW words)

Gigantomachy...
Effrenate actors contest.
Who will lose? Hide. Wait.

[Addendum: Word definitions...

candid: (archaic meaning) free from malice, favourably disposed, kindly]

PANGLOSS' WORST FEARS FOLLOW?

Candid Candide risks;
impulse, desire overtakes.
Result? Candida.

[Addendum: Word definitions...

candid: (archaic meaning) white]

ON BIOLOGICAL DATA TRANSFER,
WITH A POST-COITAL ENDING WRAPPED IN A MYELIN SHEATH

Impulse risks, jumps gap.
Electric message leaps, arcs.
Candid nerve glistens.

I ought to note two archaic meanings of candid.

One is kindly, without malice.

Another is white.

Enjoyed them. Not sure Voltaire would, though :-)

Anthony,

I think Voltaire enjoyed many... and would, optimistically, hope for the best for young Candide... knowing what reality bears in place of optimism...

Chris

Some grand words in there. Perfect!

Amazing what well-chosen "random" words can suggest.

I do still want to take part in the 3WW but at present am finding it hard to use words given - I think it is a good exercise so shall persevere.

Gautami,

Thanks! If you've got 'em, flaunt em! Words are meant to be used!

Dave,

It is indeed.

Floreta,

The Heroine made the same comment, so I added addendums to the text... All its cleverness, of course, is due to Pangloss' excellent academic supervision of his pupil, Candide...

OxyJen,

Thanks! This is all because of you! And PJD!

Weaver of Grass,

I hear you; why not treat it as a time limited game?

I give myself 7-10 minutes from reading to publishing.

True, the results come out more clever (I hope) than deep, but the exercise forces dendrites to snap to and from attention in their binary dance, transmitting thoughts hither and thither then down to the fingertips.

Tschuess,
Chris

Cleverly done and very nicely worded post!

The NaisaiKu.. Challenge!

Ironically, my favorite part is
hide. wait.

Also the introductory description of the last one. Nicely played sir, nicely played.

Won't be happening.

Sweet Talking Guy,

Thanks, and you brought me into the challenge, too.

PJD,

That was my favourite too. Especially that part. That was why I felt compelled to include it, even though it used none of the 3WW words... But its unbidden leap to the screen meant that it had to be listened to...

Thanks.

Haiku,

Trying to work out who you are...

ThomG,

Glad to see that you are up, and thank you very much.

Tschuess,
Chris
