The interregnum endeth (and Pommes... ? ...)

Image of a tennis racket.
Dear Gentle Readers,

The e-interregnum is almost over, so I logged on to see if anyone came by.

And it appears that my site has been hijacked...

By the Hero.

Listen, don't worry about the Hero.

Someone mainlined a bit too much catnip a couple of weeks ago and is, obviously, still a bit strung out.

I apologize if Pommes has upset any of the gentler e-souls on the net. He'll be in rehab for a while (and, sadly, therefore unavailable for photographs).

But, what was Pommes so worked up about, this week

Poetry.

Your Hero heard me quoting The Avengers by the American poet Edwin Markham (1852-1940).

And then, apparently, Pommes worked himself into a lather.

Or his guilt worked itself, and himself, into a lather.

This was what I was reciting when Pommes flipped out...

The Avengers

The laws are the secret avengers,
And they rule above all lands;
They come on wool-soft sandals,
But they strike with iron hands.
...

See; poetry.

Not that I don't find Pommes' revelations interesting...

As long as Pommes has been abiding with house rules, he has nothing to fear.

Of course, if he hasn't, hmmm, well, nowhere in the poem does it state that Heroes are exempt from the laws... ...now, where did I put my iron hands?...

See you on Monday.

Chris

Part XII of XII of the interregnum: Hong Kong's underbelly

Graffiti image of a face, obscured by a taxi, found in Hong Kong (SOHO).Dear Gentle Reader,

It is the last week of the e-interregnum!

I live in Gotham.

Or Hong Kong.

Batman seemed to be equally at home in both cities in the last movie, so I am not sure where I am.

But, the e-interregnum is almost over...

I might even write more about that, one day; living in Gotham. But not now.

While I have not been offering written fluff, for the last month, I have provided a pictorial view of the underbelly of cities.

Today, Hong Kong.

As you well know, Hong Kong is both a fantastic city and it is the current stomping ground of your humble scribe, your Heroine, and your Hero.

And of Batman.

But the humble scribe has no time to write until May 18, as an e-interregnum is currently in effect as previously noted here.

So, instead, a head-level look at the popular art. And by popular art, I mean art by the populous.

By the people.

A series of graffiti shots.

Well, a series of shots of one piece of graffiti.

Graffiti doesn't last very long here, and there is not much of it.

Your humble scribe may add commentary after May 18. We'll see. But, till then, each picture counts as 1000 words.

Tschuess,
Chris

(sixth) respite from the (so-called) interregnum

Image of your Hero, Pommes in Hong Kong, 16 May 2009.
Dear Gentle Reader,

Help!

Read this very carefully. Please.

He (the scribe) might have broken his own e-interregnum and thereby noticed my additions to his blog...

And, if he hasn't before, he certainly might now that the e-interregnum is coming to an end.

I heard him muttering about avengers and striking with iron hands this morning.

...

!

...

For the love of Heroes, people, HELP!

Who knows what perfidious plans the scribe has for me...

Quick!

Write expressions of undying love (to me).

(Bellas, feel free to include saucy photos of yourselves with tins of fish. Who knows what horrors lie in wait for me? This could be our last chance together, and my last memories of the good life...)

If that scribe (the great, glorious, needlessly humble scribe) [in case he is reading this] thinks that readers like me, he might let me live...

Why have I never wondered what happened to the cats who came before...

Write soon!!!

Who knows what harm may befall me, otherwise...

HELP!!!

(Also, ask him to post pictures to be sure that I am OK, when this interminable interregnum of graffiti ends... ...don't be deceived by duplicate heroes...)

(Oooh... ...and ask him for pictures of me with dates on newspapers visible, so that you know that they are recent...)

Your Hero is worried.

...

Also, the scribe might have found those charges on the visa bill.

...

And the 1-900 numbers on the phone bill...

(Who knew those little charges could add up to so much over the course of a month?)

...

With regrets (mine) to those of you who have not sent me naughty polaroids or web-cam shots of yourselves, and tins of tuna or salmon or mackeral, yet, and have therefore not received limericks of love in return...

And with impassioned miao's for help,
Pommes

(Ciao, bellas)

Part XI of XII of the interregnum: Geneva's underbelly

Close-up graffiti image of a head in Geneva, SwitzerlandDear Gentle Reader,

It's the last week of the e-interregnum!

I keep saying that I live in Gotham.

I might even write about that, one day. But not today.

While I have not been offering written fluff, for three weeks, I have been providing a pictorial view of the underbelly of cities.

Well, a view of only one city prior to this week.

But, today, a third city. Today, Geneva.

Geneva (Genebra in Italian, Genève in French, Genf in German) is a fantastic city and was the previous stomping ground of your humble scribe, your Heroine, and your Hero. But the humble scribe has no time to write until May 18, as an e-interregnum is currently in effect as previously noted here.

So, instead, a head-level look at the popular art. And by popular art, I mean art by the populous.

(fifth) respite from the (so-called) interregnum

Image of Pommes resting beside the humble scribe.Dear Gentle Reader.

And you thought that that humble scribe was working?

Hah.

Gotcha with the hidden camera, scribe boy.

*smirk*

Note my inky greatness.

Ciao bellas,
Pommes

PS

Will the lovely-haired hottie kittie who video-called me on skype yesterday please call back and leave your contact details?

I answered the call so quickly that my right pinkie claw took out the 'carriage return' key -- that was what disconnected us, baby...

PPS

Thank goodness at least we are out of Genoa, finally.

I kept thinking of their lovely fish market.

And of Genoa's aquarium...

...the dreams they gave me...

...miao!

Part X of XII of the interregnum: Venice's underbelly

Graffiti image of Dante Alighieri found in Venice, Italy.Dear Gentle Reader,

Last week of the e-interregnum!

I keep saying that I live in Gotham.

I might even write about that, one day. Maybe I'll write about living in Gotham next Monday, my first Monday with "live" writing in a month. But, not today.

While I have not been writing "live" and offering written fluff, for three weeks (and this is the last week, I promise), I am providing a pictorial view of the underbelly of cities (Well, only one other city until today).

Today, Venice.

The Serenissima is a fantastic city with a rich history of conquest, exploration, and occupation which I have written about before. But, your humble scribe has no time to write until May 18, as an e-interregnum is currently in effect as previously noted here.

So, instead, a head-level look at the popular art. And by popular art, I mean art by the populous.

(fourth) respite from the (so-called) interregnum

Image of your Hero, Pommes, looking sexy; on his back with his legs up...Dear Gentle Reader,

Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored.

I hate graffiti.

You want to see something good?

...

Look at that belly...

...Rub me baby...

I got what you need...

...And it's pettin' time...

...

No shoving, ladies, there is enough of me to go around.

...

Who cares about graffiti? Who needs a diet?

It's Hero time.

...

Send love.

And fish.

And strawberries and cream (hold the strawberries).

Heck, hold the cream and I'll take it straight from your palm or paw...

Ciao bellas,
Pommes

PS I'm by the phone. And I know how to use skype... ...I'm waitin' for your call...

Part VIII of XII of the interregnum: Genoa's underbelly

Graffiti image of the phrase 'riot every day' found on a peaceful street, above a parked Vespa, from the old town centre of Genoa, Italy.Dear Gentle Reader,
